The Nizhny Kaban Lake Embankment is a favorite place among Kazan citizens and guests. This is not just an ordinary promenade along water but a real paradise for outdoor recreation.

The most remarkable object on the lake is the fountain located in its water area. Its jets reach a height of 50 meters, and in the evenings, you can see an impressive light and music show. The fountain is especially splendid after the sunset and brings out the beauty of the lake and its shores.

The Epiphany Cathedral belfry is the highest one in Kazan. Its height is as much as 74 meters. For long time, it used to be the highest structure of the city. Today, the belfry has become a kind of beacon for lost tourists: if they see a red steeple, it must be the center of Kazan, Bauman Pedestrian Street.

The Theater named after Galiaskar Kamal is the mirror of the Tatar culture, source of inspiration and life for a lot of talented people. Its building is situated on the Kaban Lake shore and represents a sailing ship drifting on the water body waves. In its two halls – large and small ones – you can listen to a performance in three languages by attaching headphones to the stall.

A walk through the Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda (Old Tatar Settlement) will instantly carry you to the atmosphere of bygone years, because this is the largest colorful open-air museum in Kazan. The stone Märcani and Apanay mosques, a museum representing an old Tartar house, Kayum Nasyri’s exhibition, Kaushchi house, and lots of bright wooden structures – be set for staying there all the day long to see all the assets of the Sloboda!

The Kazan Kremlin is the most ancient part of Kazan representing a complex of architectural, historical and archeological monuments revealing the centuries-old history of the city. Today, the Kazan Kremlin is among the most popular touristic attractions in Russia, being visited by over 3 million people every year.

Kazan Family Center, better known popularly as the Bowl, is an unparalleled structure in form of an enormous cauldron* on a white-stone basement. 

On the Center roof, an observation deck is equipped, from which a spectacular view of all the most interesting places in the capital of Tatarstan opens.
